Dear Friends,

Last year over 800 volunteers came together to clean up Truckee's streets, removing over 6 tons of litter and debris and enjoying the satisfaction that only "hands on" volunteerism can provide! They were also treated to a free barbecue lunch, live music and a great time with their fellow volunteers at Regional Park after the hard work was done.

On Saturday, June 7th 2008, we will celebrate the 5th Annual Truckee Day. In keeping with this year's theme of "Truckee...Clean and Green", we will be holding a Green Living Expo from 12:30-2:00 pm at the park along with the community picnic. Residents will be able to get information on renewable energy alternatives, conservation, recycling and waste management, biofuels, local non profit agencies engaged in sustainability and more!

We're inviting your green business, agency or non profit organization to be a part of the celebration! Businesses and organizations providing volunteers for the clean up will be offered booth spaces free of charge. Please reply with an email to indicate your interest in participating. Space will be allocated on a first - come, first - serve basis, so don't wait!
